Castor and wheels Test Room

At BIL the most popular ranges in terms of volume sales are our pressed steel castors. These are the types of products that we put through their paces at our recently commissioned in-house test facility in Calne.

The standards involved are EN 12527:1999 and EN 12532:1999 – these describe the test methods and apparatus plus the characteristics and requirements of the castors and wheels needed to conform to this standard.

We systematically spot-check and test our lighter duty casters with both solid and pneumatic wheels on a regular basis and BIL is proud to be one of a very few places in the UK with the equipment available to do this. Also, both of our major manufacture partners have their own test facilities which, when added to our own in-house testing, doubly ensures that our high quality standards are fully maintained.
